SYNOPSIS/DESCRIPTION:

Celebrating true stories of courageous people from around the world who are preserving and protecting our Planet and its indigenous cultures. Dedicated to increasing awareness of the connection between the environment and social justice, women's wisdom and indigenous knowledge, PARADIGM SHIFTS, MUSIC AND FILM FESTIVAL pairs compelling independent films with artists performing a variety of music and dance, from jazz and gospel, to classical, folk, African, Tibetan, Native American and new opera and chamber music.


A PATCH OF BLUE SKY in a WORLD TURNED UPSIDE DOWN 
Music from around the world honoring families forced from their homes to escape famine, climate change and war…with singers and musicians from New York City, refugee states/nations, and violin, piano, bass, classical guitar, percussion and indigenous world music. Featuring Frank Basile, Jeanai and Giacomo La Vita, Naho Parrini, Wilma Wever, Kristin Renee Young and Chauncey Packer. Directed by Nancy Rhodes, musical director Richard Pearson Thomas.

A black activist is wrongfully incarcerated. His wife, Leah, disguises herself to infiltrate the system and free him. But when injustice reigns, one woman's grit may not be enough to save her love. Featuring the voices of imprisoned people, this daring adaptation pits corruption against courage, hate against hope.
