Since its founding in 2001, Spectrum Symphony's mission has been to bring audiences and musicians closer together, by presenting concerts of the classics as well as works of living composers in intimate venues. Our commitment to new music conveys the idea that serious music has always been a living, breathing art.

Spectrum and its versatile musicians live up to their name by performing a broad range of works - symphonic masterworks, new music premieres, oratorio,  fund raisers, and memorial events. Some performances, include J. S. Bach with full chorus in the Lutheran Disaster Response 9/11 memorial concert, and the Fauré Requiem in a fund raiser for New York Cares to benefit victims of hurricane Sandy. Spectrum Symphony was reorganized as a not-for-profit in 2013, and is committed to performing works of living composers, often alongside the classics, to bring audiences closer to the music and the musicians.
