Equity Diversity and Inclusion

The constituents of the New York Opera Alliance have spent the last year prioritizing finding ways to equip New York opera companies with the tools, resources, and information needed to begin the work to be a more inclusive and equitable sector. We believe that diversity not only is important, but brings forth immense value in bringing new voices, viewpoints, and experiences into the room to create meaningful art that is representative of the whole community.

We are working with VEGA Leadership through a year-long EDI series including discussions, round-tables, workshops, and surveys to get a scan of the current landscape and take actionable steps to make change within our industry and in our organizations. With the help of VEGA Leadership and the many participating organizations, we hope to pave the path to a thriving, diverse, equitable, and inclusive ecosystem for New York opera.
